We've just implemented a new tape drive for one of our clients as their existing one broke down. We chose the Dell TL2000 with a fibre interface to connect to their SAN to allow us to utilise VCB with their virtual servers.

We are also in the process of migrating a client to Exchange server 2007. A range of benefits for staff are being introduced including a new Outlook Web Access (OWA) interface. In addition we will be implenting Standby Continuous Replication (SCR) to a remote server based in their D-R centre. 

February 2009

We are currently in the process of implimenting an e-mail archiving solution using GFI MailArchiver. At the same time we are upgrading to Exchange 2007 and utilising the new Standby Continuous Replication capabilites as part of a wider project to provide disaster recovery facilities at a remote site.

We are also working for two clients to design new backup and recovery strategies. Both clients have offices in Mumbai and London and are looking to replicate data between the two offices. Both clients are looking to utilise the capabiliites of Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Server Edition.

The software will allow the clients, in the event of a disaster to recover an entire server, even to dissimilar physical hardware or a virtual server such as VMware ESX server.

November 2008

Efiniti Consulting recently completed a software licencing review for a London based investment firm.

The task was completed in partnership with Microsoft and was initiated to help the company identify a suitable licensing strategy. The project resulted not only in confirming the company was correctly licensed but also identified potential cost savings through the consolidaiton of some servers.

In addition the company benefited from the Home use program allowing staff to intall Microsoft Office on their home computers for just the cost of the installation media.
